On Thursday, August 3, the Lionel Wendt hosted an enchanting evening featuring the De Lanerolle Brothers. The duo, Rohan and Ishan, delivered two sold-out back-to-back shows, captivating the audience with an hour of their favorite numbers.
Adding to the magic, four school choirs - Royal College, Visakha Vidyalaya, Ladies’ College, and Bishop’s College - shared the stage, showcasing their exceptional talents. Each choir, directed with finesse, left a lasting impression with carefully chosen songs.
The De Lanerolle Brothers, through anecdotes and shared banter, created a close connection with the audience. They took the audience on a journey through their favorite tunes, from the heartfelt dedication of 'My Prayer' to Rohan's versatile 'By Strauss' and Ishan's signature 'Ol' Man River.'
Neranjan de Silva on keyboard and Surekha Amerasinghe at the piano played integral roles, contributing to a well-choreographed evening. The highlight came as all choirs joined the Brothers on stage for a rousing rendition of 'Anthem' from Chess, marking the culmination of a night filled with musical diversity and shared melodies at the Lionel Wendt.
